Who is it for? To promote kids self-practice, self-awareness and independent learning which can help reduce the parent being a 'secretary' rather than a 'supporter'.

For Kids with focus issues, busy schedules and/or attending Montessori learning.

Multiple Record Trackers to Monitor Self-Progress

Record Trackers are so important for kids, to allow them to continue to monitor their self-progress and build self-confidence. Often students don't even know they have grown so much in a span of 25 weeks - but they actually have done so much!

【Get to Know You】Get your child to complete our 'Get to Know You' page so you can make music stories and jokes relevant to their interests. This especially helps forgetful teachers or busy teachers who have 20+ students.

【Sticker Tracker】Get 1-2 stickers for each homework week. 1 sticker is for 3 days of practice, 2 stickers is for 5 or 6 days of practice.

【Grade Tracker】Make kids feel good and see which grade they are up to!

【Flash Card & Note Tracker】Record how many flash cards they have completed.

【Scale Tracker】Record how many scales they have completed.

【Pieces/Songs Tracker】Record how many pieces they have completed.

【Prizes/Awards Tracker】Record how many prizes they have claimed from stickers or awards they have received from competitions.

25 Weeks of Track & Color

【25 Weeks of Track & Color】Each week is a different theme to get the kids excited. The different themes is very important to those kids who get bored easily or have focus issues. The different themes will get kids to look forward to their favourite theme - they might even ask 'when is bunny week?' or 'when is video game week'?

【Technical & Pieces】The left page is three 'technical work'. This can include finger exercises, scales, Hanon, Czerny. The right side is three 'pieces'. If the student is on beginner and can do more than 3 pieces, you can simply write the beginner book names instead. However, the Muso Method recommended rule is to not have more than 3 categories of 'technical work' and 3 pieces (2 old, 1 new or 1 old, 2 new).

Example:

Technical work - scales (G major and D major), Hanon, Czerny.

Pieces - Bach Minuet in G, Burgmuller Innocence and Duet with Mozart.

【5 Times Rule】For piano version, we follow the Muso Method rule LH (left hand) 5 times, RH (right hand) 5 times and BH (both hands) 5 times.

For instrumental version, we follow the rule S1 (section 1) 5 times, S2 (section 2) 5 times and WP (whole piece) 5 times.

Of course, we then tell students to only do 3 times if they can 'get it 3 times correct in a row' as a reward. But some students, due to the coloring in, can't help but color ALL the stars in ;)

【End of Week Mood】Each practice page includes a mood chart, so the student can color how they feel about their practice! If they color 'sad' - chance is that they lack confidence to play the exercise or piece, and need your help to better understand.

Piano Coloring Pages to help Refocus & Relax

Coloring Pages

【Piano Coloring pages】End of the book includes 2*Piano related coloring pages for them to do in their spare time, especially if they are waiting for their next lesson.

What are the Muso Flash Cards made out of? Is it waterproof?

Your Muso Music Flash cards are made out of quality, laminated finishing card materials.

However, whilst it is water-resistant to kid spitting, pet saliva, swimming pool/bath accidents, adult sneezing or drinking spillage, it is not made out of plastic and therefore, not 110% water-proof.

But we dipped it in the pool and it was fine! Watch reel here.

Why did you not make the cards completely out of plastic?

The co-founder Isabelle Ng is passionate about minimising harm to the environment (her other businesses include a reusable bubble tea cup brand www.kinoi.com.au and biogas waste facility commercialisation REVIS).

Making the cards out of card paper material mean less plastic toxins will be made/go into landfill. We hope the cards will be made to last forever in family homes - passed down through generations to come (like board games), or family friends. But if a student/family does decide to chuck it out, it can go in the yellow/recycling bin. And if in the incident it goes into landfill, there will be minimised/no toxins.

I can assure and guarantee you, the flash cards are strong and kid-friendly without harming the environment!

What makes your Muso Flash Cards different?

1) Quality - real splash proof flash CARDS (not like the outdated flash paper🤣). That means not easily damaged by fiddly fingers or spit/wet hands/spillage. The amount of times my students’ parents had to repurchase the old flash cards was insane. Some even laminated them.

2) 2x Key Rings - no more flash cards spilling everywhere or plastic elastic bands that break. You can also separate the “good” and “need to work on” pile with the key rings too, to make flash card game time more time efficient.

3) Kid friendly Colors, size & fonts - I have psychology background too 😉. Students are more drawn, intrigued and want to pick them up/go through them due to these differences. It literally looks like a game (which it is 😉). The card sizes are also perfect for 3yo’s too. So by making a good first impression with the physical attraction, causes a positive halo effect.

4) Muso Method tips - that’s probably the most important one. Not only do we have game instructions how to utilise the flash cards effectively, our Muso Method way gets the kids to explain each card associating with line numbers. Good bye silly acronyms (not effective for non-speaking 3yos or English-as-a-second-language kids).

Ever since we switched from our academy from old flash cards to our Muso Flash Cards, we learnt that the younger siblings sight reading is better than the older sibling 👏👏👏
